Wesley's Notes for Genesis 1:29

1:29-30 We have here the third part of the sixth day's work, which was not any new creation, but a gracious provision of food for all flesh, #Psa 136:25|. - Here is, 1. Food provided for man, Ge 1:29. herbs and fruits must be his meat, including corn, and all the products of the earth. And before the earth was deluged, much more before it was cursed for man's sake, its fruits no doubt, were more pleasing to the taste, and more strengthening and nourishing to the body. 2. Food provided for the beasts, #Ge 1:30|. Doth God take care of oxen? Yes, certainly, he provides food convenient for them; and not for oxen only that were used in his sacrifices, and man's service, but even the young lions and the young ravens are the care of his providence, they ask and have their meat from God.

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
1 John 5:7 (omitted in the NIV and popular easy to read translations) This is a principle declaration of the Godhead. But many people do not like to retain knowledge of their Creator, and through deceit they are willingly ignorant. So God gives them a reprobate mind.

Robert, Christ loves you. That is why he came, he came for our fallen nature which needed to be redeemed to right standing with God. God loves you, and that is why he sent his son, Jesus Christ. God's grace is given to each of us.. talk to him in prayer, he is listening.. John 3:16. Asking Jesus to save you is number one importance! Go to a bible teaching church, and read and pray your bible

Robert, no one knows the nature of the afterlife. Only an arrogant person claims to know such things. No one should live in fear of damnation. The best you can do here on Earth is to be a good person, and for that you need not read scripture. On being a good person, we have serviceable moral intuitions, yet I suggest sharpening your morality by reading moral philosophy books :-)

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? He who has clean hands and a pure heart. Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. For his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in the law of the Lord he does meditate day and night. The ungodly are not so, but are as the chaff which the wind drives away.

    Read Matthew 24, then 2 Peter 2, 2Timothy 3, Jude, Psalm 1, Isaiah 1, Jeremiah 5, for a start.

To Word, In Job 38:4 God is speaking to Job, "WHERE WERE YOU when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much." If Job wasn't there when God created the earth, then you and I and all the souls your talking about were not present either! God is speaking to the Angels.
