Ga 5:1The Fruits of the Flesh and of the Spirit SUMMARY OF GALATIANS 5: To Fall Under the Law Is to Lose Christ. Circumcision Avails Nothing. but Faith Working by Love. Love the Fulfilling of the Law. The Warfare Between the Flesh and the Spirit. The Works of the Flesh. The Fruits of the Spirit. Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free. Compare Eph 6:14 2Th 2:15. This verse is connected in meaning with the last chapter, where it is shown that the gospel is freedom, but the Mosaic law is the covenant of bondage. Hence Paul bids them to cling to their freedom in Christ, and And be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Not to be brought again under the yoke by being drawn under the Jewish law. Once they had been under bondage to a heathen yoke (Ga 4:8); to accept the Jewish yoke would be a second bondage.
