responds to Angie; we're all beginners. In the Old testament forgiveness came only with true repentance, the New testament seems to be more lenient, faith is the primary requisite factor. I always felt that true repentance is one of the building blocks of one's faith. I also find some passages to be beyond my understanding, I'm sceptical of anyone who claims to understand the mind of the LORD.

In the Bible it talks about Jesus forgiving our sins mainly in John I would encourage you to read John chapter 3. It also talks about what being''Born Again'' means and teaches what you should do after you are born again. Then there is Romans which Paul wrote, and it also talks about faith in Christ and salvation through him...I hope this helps

Angie, 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Ezekiel 36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Many blessings to you!

I'm sorry to say I'm a beginner. I have been curious about some passages I over heard and was wondering if u could help? Where in Exodus does it talk about God forgiving us of our sins if we truly have faith that he is our lord? Thank you for your help.
