Wesley's Notes for Ephesians 3:20

3:20 Now to him - This doxology is admirably adapted to strengthen our faith, that we may not stagger at the great things the apostle has been praying for, as if they were too much for God to give, or for us to expect from him. That is able - Here is a most beautiful gradation. When he has given us exceeding, yea, abundant blessings, still we may ask for more. And he is able to do it. But we may think of more than we have asked. He is able to do this also. Yea, and above all this. Above all we ask - Above all we can think. Nay, exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can either ask or think.

Turn everything over to God. He is all knowing and all powerful and is interested in every detail of our lives. He has things all worked out and is ready to surpass our human understanding and wildest expectations. Take the limits off God and watch Him work.

Rev Abraham N\'bompa Turay's comment on 2015-04-26 05:43:27:

this scripture takes every believer from the state of worry and hopelessness to the place of confidence and total peace. the scripture point us to God 's sovereignty and alsufficience. our human imagination and expectation cannot exhaust God 's resources and ability .And that power which can do far beyond our human limitation is at work in us. all we need to do is to connect and allow it to flow through us in faith

Jennifer Miller's comment on 2015-02-07 17:06:50:

As His blood bought and redeemed children through Jesus, God has revealed to us in Ephesians 3:20 No matter how humanly impossible the situations and circumstances of life present us, if we choose to submit to the leadership of God and the Holy Spirit, that which is humanly impossible is now possible because God loves to confound the wisdom of men, even ours to carry out his purposes. We as His children have to always be careful to not downgrade our expectations of GOD omnipotence by trying to limit God to our thoughts into and about our prayers, desires, hopes or dreams, because God is, will, is willing to show us when our faith stands not in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God, GOD WILL do SUPERaundantly, far over and above all we dare to ask or think.

That as long as we are doing the work of the father, He will continue to bless us, but even if we fall by the wayside, He is so gracious, loving and forgiving that if we repent, He will still take care of us!

Brothers and sisters we serve an all powerful God. No matter what our problems are God is well able to fix these. There is nothing too hard for God to do. Remember too that his ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts.

Olabode's comment on 2014-07-16 03:48:05:

God is not a man that will lie, neither man that will promise and not fulfill it. For him to fulfill his promises according to this particular verse, it depends on me and you that is holiness .

He is a REAL father figure that eants the best for his children even when the world says no he says yes because he is our creator... ISNT HE LOVELY... I LOVE MY DADDY HEAVENLY FATHER
