Wesley's Notes for Ephesians 1:13

1:13 In whom ye - Gentiles. Likewise believed, after ye had heard the gospel - Which God made the means of your salvation; in whom after ye had believed - Probably some time after their first believing. Ye were sealed by that Holy Spirit of promise - Holy both in his nature and in his operations, and promised to all the children of God. The sealing seems to imply, A full impression of the image of God on their souls. A full assurance of receiving all the promises, whether relating to time or eternity.

People's Bible Notes for Ephesians 1:13

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also [trusted]. The "we" of Eph 1:12 refers to Jewish believers; the "ye", to Gentile believers, like most of the Ephesians, who also trusted, after that they "heard the word of truth". They not only hoped, but believed. That is, they became believers, by trusting obedience; then they were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. After they were converted, the Holy Spirit was bestowed upon them. It was a "promise" (Ac 1:4). The seal was attached to a letter or legal document to authenticate it to the world. The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of adoption, was God's authentication to the world that the converts to Christ were accepted as his children. The presence of the new Spirit was shown by a new life exhibiting the fruits of the Spirit (Ga 5:22).

Discussion for Ephesians 1

Praise God for sealing us with His Holy Spirit when we were born again as stated in vs.13 of chapter 1. Also God through Paul shows us inspired words to pray over fellow believers in verses 17-23...notice Paul in verse 16 says he makes mention or speaks words ...and there is a [ ;] semicolon after the word prayers, then in verse 17 he begins what he prays for over his fellow believers. Praise God!

I believe that Ephesians is the definition of the salvation method of all the believers. Who believe that Jesus Christ is the one true God, and the creator of all the people of the Earth, and Angels, and all things from the foundation of the world. Called to be saints by receiving the spirit of God in them-with the Holy Ghost of God. They that worship Him, must worship him in spirit and in truth.

J they do love death, which is to say the devil. They, the ones that went against Jesus are but not all of those wrote of in Matt. 13 vs 36 to 44 speaking of the tares the wicked one sends to earth. At the attempted overthrow by Satan when he tried to steal the mercy seat that he was to guard those followed Satan.

Bible reader that's true and God is a righteous Judge so when the Great White Throne Judgment occurrs it is your actions and what you did is what condemns a person or if good they get good rewards. If one truly is sorry and that sin is heart felt because God knows and one ask for forgiveness it will be cleared through Christ.
  • Bible reader
JESUS loves everyone NOT the sin that the individual does.
  • Word
Chosen saints the elect before the foundation because they knew and know the truth of the word. Predestin from before the foundation. Reads like Jeremiah that GOD KNEW them before this earth age of the flesh and they are destin to stand with Christ.
