Geoff Hicks's comment about verse 9 on 1/08/2014, 10:59am...

Up above in Ecclesiastes 1:9 from the King James Bible the quote is 'The thing that hath beene, it is that which shall be: and that which is done, is that which shall be done; and there is no new thing vnder the sunne.' I think the word 'vnder' is a misprint and should be 'under' - what do you think?

Beatrice kanja's comment on 1/06/2014, 5:15am...

Be content and dont want or envy things that are simply things, enjoy the simple, and not only appreciate what you already have but also what you dont, there is alot of things we wish for we are typically not even ready for, (be thankful)

Frehiwot's comment on 12/24/2013, 2:54am...

Glory's comment on 11/25/2013, 12:43pm...

Watever we are seeing now or experienceing now existed before it is only new to us because we did not exist then

Egbert's comment on 11/24/2013, 11:20am...

the one thing I do know that is new each day is GOD MERCY and
I am so very grateful for it because I know I do not deserve it.

TRACIE's comment on 11/11/2013, 12:18am...

What he means is that with his wisdom and search of it he has discovered is that EVERYTHING on this earth OTHER THAN what GOD has created is man made and therefore VANITY and all things that are desired and corrupt. His point is do not put so much LABOR into what vanity/man is driving you to desire that you forget the very foundation or the simple purity of life that is God's everlasting gift....Earth and US if we choose HIS life which is more powerful than anything ON the earth that repeats it's sins from generation to generation.

Mapula Moffat's comment on 10/25/2013, 12:14am...

There comes a time when your creator says time up then you exit this world.Who were you serving all along? Is it God or mammon?Decide now if you choose everlasting life or everlasting death.Jehovah have compassion over your life.

Evans's comment on 10/23/2013, 4:49pm...

Let us not be too much concerned with earthly things! We should rather be thinking of eternity. The question we should be asking ourselves is 'where will I spend eternity?

GLORIA vANDA's comment on 10/16/2013, 3:34pm...

IT TELLS US THAT EVERYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING TODAY HAS ALREADY HAPPEDNED SOMETIME IN THE PAST. wE SHOULD NOT BE VAIN BECAUSE MAN WILL EVENTUALLY DIE BUT THAT THE EARTH WILL REMAIN IN SOME FORM FOREVER. WE SHOULD NOT SPEND TIME TRYING TO LOVE EARTHLY THINGS BECAUSE THEY WILL EVENTUALLY FADE, VANISH OR BE DESTROYED. WE SHOULD FOCUS OUR MIND ON ETERNITY BECAUSE ETERNITY IS A VERY LONG TIME AND THAT WE SHOULD WANT TO SPEND ETERNITY IN HEAVEN WITH OUR CREATOR.

Joseph's comment on 10/11/2013, 10:14am...

Dea. James Perkins's comment on 10/11/2013, 10:02am...

Joyce's comment on 10/04/2013, 2:10am...

Human life is nothing without Christ. Since Adam and Eve people have lived a life and left a life. They worked; built; discovered; even invented. When that life was over the only thing that remained with them is Christ. It is vain to be boastful or puffed up(if you will)with earthly things or deeds.

Phemy's comment on 9/03/2013, 3:00am...

We came to this world with nothing and when the time comes for us to return, we shall also return with nothing expect the works we have use our lifetime to achieve. Of what profit will it be having gain fame in this world and now recieve shame in heaven. Let's examine our ways.

Zelia Logan-Smith's comment about verse 18 on 8/25/2013, 8:14am...

True knowledge comes from above and it is confirmed by The Holy Spirit as to being Truth. The ones who carry this Truth, are humble, loving and compassionate. These attributes brings on a desire for others to know, also. They bring on a Spirit of sharing. The woe and sorrow comes when it is rejected or when others continue to do and live under evil wisdom...thinking themselves true. This is Woe.

when one fully view that scripture one will wonder-the purpose of life itself,

SISTER UZOR CHINYERE's comment on 7/18/2013, 8:38am...

It is a really a sober experience after reading this chapter. This chapter is reminding me that life without Christ is empty. And this world is nothing. We came to this world with nothing and will go back with nothing. In-spite of your beauty, connection, wealth, education etc they are all vanity. It also reminds me that one day the owner of my life will come and take it and that day all my personality, education, wealth will be left behind. I Pray that God will give me grace to leave above sin.

Fred CB's comment on 6/17/2013, 5:34pm...

A very sobering consideration of all aspects of life, with the end realisation of what really matters, when it is all boiled down; life without God is purposeless, useless, pointless. Hence well summed up in Chapter 12:13-14

MBURU DAWOOD's comment on 5/19/2013, 9:38am...

everything in life is not of any significance without christ

George Ongera's comment on 4/12/2013, 1:47am...

However much life may be, however sweet or bitter you may think of it, however much you may struggle to make yourself comfortable worldly, REMEMBER all is vanity… Seek ye the kingdom of God first and everything shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).

Sebastian's comment on 3/15/2013, 6:03pm...

God is the Great Designer.HE has placed everything in it's place. The water cycle,The life cycle,The Wind Cycle and so on.HE has also established the Sun and the Earth. We as human beings are here for a short time and we are benefiting from what God has created. We came with nothing and it is certain that we will go back with nothing. Therefore, ALL IS VANITY.Only one MAN stands out,and HIS NAME is JESUS.HE is the Alpha and Omega. The Beginning and the End.HE holds the key of life and death.
