Bb's comment about verse 5 on 4/30/2012, 12:35pm...

I really believe this was talking about homosexuality and lesbianisn.. Women taking on the roll of a man and man taking on the roll of a woman..This verse has nothing to do with woman wearing pant to church. Also realize pants were not invented at that time.

What the men wore under their robes I haven't a clue, what the woman wore under their robes, i still don't have a clue. But it is not about the clothes you wear that will save and sanctify you its what's in the heart that counts. Man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart.

If you search this further it was also relaying to the future not the present time in Deut.

I am a pastor and I am not hung up on women wearing pants to church, I m after the hearts and soul. If women are to be convict of wearing pants let the Word of God deal with them not you.

The bible said to study the word, research the word..don't just pick out a certain sentence you want to specify and leave out the meat of the verse. This verse pertains to women and men. Not just the women. tk for listening:)

Michele's comment about verse 5 on 4/14/2012, 3:21am...

I beleive the Bible is the infalliable, inspired Word of God and it is literal. It says what it means and means what it says. I recently studied this verse for myself as I had been confused and drawn away from my conviction to dress as a lady of God. I believe that God has created men and ladies differently and He expects us to be different in ALL ways including dress. I will take it a step further and say that I believe God does not want ladies to do a man's work, walk like a man, talk like a man, etc---it was not intended this way from the beginning. Ladies are to be the weaker vessel--a help meet to their own husband...meek, modest, and Godly.

Larry's comment about verse 5 on 2/05/2012, 9:23am...

I believe that it's very wrong to give your opinion when it comes to the word of God. I believe that God wants us to rightly divide the word when sharing it with others. So, I will give you a rightly divided answer to Deut 22:5. "geber" heb word for man Strong's concordance #h1397 means, strong man, warrior( emphasizing strenght or ability to fight).

"Keliy" hebrew word for "pertaineth" strong's # h3615 means: articles, vessels, utensils such as: hunting or war, of music, tool (of labour), equipment, yoke(of oxen), utensils, furniyure. This should open your eyes of a more understanding to Deut 22:5, Thanks Larry

Michael Snead's comment about verse 5 on 12/23/2011, 6:40pm...

I believe that God expects us to be different from one another (man vs Woman - Sinner vs Christian ) If we set ourselves out to be different from the world, we will be blessed. You can let your flesh control what you do determines your blessings. Questions? contact me @ Michael Stephen Snead on Facebook.

Why not do what theword say.

Margaret's comment on 11/02/2011, 8:56pm...

These verses are about protection. Protection of the species that the line doesn't die out. He created them male and female. He told them to go and replenish the earth. Ask yourself why the following verse is about allowing the mother bird to live. She is to continue laying eggs so that her species doesn't die out. Today with so much genetic modifying is it too fanciful to believe Brave New World isn't just around the corner where man is reproduced in farms?
It is about distinction of the sexes. If a woman is a woman, feminine and attractive a man will desire her and not another man.
Today we find two men bringing up four baby boys birthed by four surrogate mothers. This is the result of women looking and acting like men.

Lewis's comment on 10/30/2011, 7:29pm...

this verse would have been very obvious to people reading it back when it was written. since men and women both wore the same garments from day to day, mainly robes, then what was left that only would pertain to a man? the answer is armor. women were not to wear armor, which pertains to the man, and fight in combat.

Kim's comment about verse 5 on 10/15/2011, 1:10pm...

I believe that this verse is referring to women who purposely try to look as manly as possible. Many lesbians are guilty of this. If a woman wears modest feminine looking pants, how is she trying to appear as a man? I've known many Godly women who love and serve the Lord who have short hair and wear pants. It's what's in our hearts that God cares about the most.

Taylay's comment about verse 5 on 10/05/2011, 9:33am...

The bible is clear, we as women should not wear anything thing that pertain to a man. When you do reseach you will find that women wore dresses and skirts for 6,000 years, it was when the up rising of the feminist when pants were worn as a sign they were a feminist and that they were rebelling againist the word of god. We should believe the whole word of god and not just the new and not the old(testiments). Pants were made for men to wear only. Have you notice that on the bathroom door it has a woman with a dress on and a man with pants on? The world even know unconciencly that a woman suppose to wear dresses!!! I rather do what the word of god say than man, because man can't put you in heaven but god can! The bible says if you love me you will keep my commandments,
it just did stop at his commandments its all of his word. Search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life; its in the word of god. Women should not wear anything, that pertainth to a man, I don't care what man say, its what god says that matter, what man is wiser than the god almighty jesus christ?

Sheliah Germany's comment on 9/29/2011, 5:36pm...

I think it is very plain what the Bible means. If you are not interested in pleasing Jesus Christ, who was GOD IN THE FLESH (1 Tim 3:16,2 Corin. 5:19,St. John 1:10) you will listen to Hollywood and let the world tell you what the bible means. I will not take that risk!!! I choose to believe the Bible! Its not hard to do if you LOVE HIM!!!!

Divinediva's comment about verse 5 on 8/08/2011, 2:44pm...

I don't think he i saying women can't wear pants...i think he means when u do wear them, wear them as clothing, not to state u r a man, and act like one.

Rae Mercier's comment about verse 5 on 8/04/2011, 4:12pm...

I believe this verse pertains to 'cross dressing', and dishonoring the gender God created you to be.

Charity Evans's comment about verse 5 on 7/14/2011, 6:49am...

Yes, it means that women should not wear pants nor men shirts nor anything pertaining to men. "Being made specifically - or not" is only modifying the disgust that God sees when a woman dresses in what should be a man's; pants are for men. Women ought to look like women even from a distance, one does not need look out for womanly bodily features to tell, women ought to dress like women.

Andre's comment about verse 5 on 6/16/2011, 11:06pm...

I beleive in those days and culture a man and womans cloths was spisificly and differently made for man and woman. Today man and womans clothes are still made spesiicly for men and woman, but most of the clothes today are made to be worn by either man or woman... So no a woman wearing pants is not wrong.

THE VEED's comment on 6/02/2011, 7:02am...

Debby, this has nothing to do with garments, back in those days, both men and women were dresses for lack of better words. This is a Hebrewism that means that a woman is not to take the place of a man in bed, or lay with another woman.

Debbie W.'s comment about verse 5 on 5/17/2011, 3:20pm...

I was told if we live by the old testament we would fall from grace. This verse is in the old about wearing anything that pertains to a man

Mother Web's comment on 3/31/2011, 12:03pm...

Re:Deut. 22:5 . A woman shall not wear that which pertaineth to a man. It is very clear, any garment that a man has to wear, a woman should not wear it. Pants pertain to men garments not women, so women should not wear such garments.

Chris's comment on 3/29/2011, 1:06am...

@ Al. Verses 28-29 have nothing to do with forcing a woman to marry her rapist. If you read up to verses 25-27, even though that woman is betrothed, she cried out. Rape. The man was then executed. In verses 28-29, there was no crying out, so no rape occurred. It was consensual. Basically it's saying, "Since you wanted to test drive it, now you must buy it. You can never trade it in either."
Our Father would not make a woman marry her rapist, and then force her to cook, clean, and have normal willing sex with him afterwards. Always put it in context.

Debby's comment about verse 5 on 3/22/2011, 8:16am...

think this clearly indicates that women should not wear pants. I intend to change my attire, lest I cause anyone to stumble.

i want to know what this verse mean because i have pray about this .i dont think it is wrong .but i would like to know because i dont want to do nothing god dont want to .thank you

Al's comment on 11/03/2010, 11:15pm...

Verses 28 and 29 here are pretty good evidence of not being able to take the Old Testament morality at face value. This is seriously saying is a man rapes an unengaged virgin, he can pay her father and then marry her. So, anyone want to go make some girls marry their rapists?

Derek's comment on 9/16/2010, 1:46am...

laura, from verse 13-30 it speaks of the same subject. if a man takes a wife and then becomes unpleased with her and starts spreading gossip about her so that she recieve a bad reputation, then the parents will bring documentation that she was a virgin so that the man be found a liar. They major issue is the man spreading ill will against her so that she undueingly receive a bad rep!

Derek's comment on 9/16/2010, 1:35am...

Hi Rutha, this is a very missunderstood verse. This is speaking of a man not taking the womens place sexually and a woman not taking a mans place sexually. God does not judge the outward appearance but the heart(1 Thess 2:4, Rom 8:27) and many others. Remember if that was the case that women couldnt wear mens clothing then they could wear pants because men wore dresses at that time!
