The no answer to #16 has different meanings to different people. It says, "unless you are converted and are LIKE children." Notice it doesn't say "are children." It just means you have to be saved. Once you're saved, you become like a child again.

Yeah,
That si why I no longer discuss with close minded persons. They will believe what they want even when it is in black and white. I am believing the bible to be another tool for learning but with doubts as to mankind's explanations as to what Jesue and other atthors meant. It is also very metaphoric
Anonymous comment on 2008-06-18 19:26:33:
I doubt very much that you will allow this comment....but anyway.....I let go....
What I can conclude from this is that the Bible has many contradictions....the Quran has something quite interesting to say about this(the contradictionS):
"Do they not then consider the Quran carefully? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much contradictions."(4:82)
The above verse mean that if ever you find contradictions in any "holy" book, then that book cannot be from God Almighty, as He, God Almighty, never contradicts himself!
Moreover, consider this verse from Matthew 14:23 :"And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone."
To me, and to anyone logical enough, the above verse says that Jesus prayed.....Now, wait a moment! Jesus prayed????? If Jesus is God, then how is it that he prays?? Does he pray to himself?? Is that logical to say that God prayed God????
To me, this clearly shows the humility/ humane-nature of Jesus....He needs God...He is NOT God, he has no part is the sovereignship of God. He is only a messenger of God.
This is what the Quran has to say about Jesus:
1. "(Remember) when the angels said: "O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allah gives you the glad tidings of a Word ("Be!" - and he was! i.e. Iesa (jesus) the son of Maryam (Mary)) from Him, his name will be the Messiah Iesa (jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), held in honour in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to Allah." (3:45)
2. Verily, the likeness of Iesa (jesus) before Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: "Be!" - and he was. (3:59)
3. And because of their saying (in boast), "We killed Messiah Iesa (jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allah," - but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of Iesa (jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man), and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not (i.e. Iesa (jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) ). But Allah raised him (Iesa (jesus)) up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens). And Allah is Ever AllPowerful, AllWise. [4:157-185]
To you, my dear Christian brothers and sisters, this is what God(Allah) has to say:
"O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truth. The Messiah Iesa (jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), was (no more than) a Messenger of Allah and His Word, ("Be!" - and he was) which He bestowed on Maryam (Mary) and a spirit (Rooh) created by Him; so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Say not: "Three (trinity)!" Cease! (it is) better for you. For Allah is (the only) One Ilah (God), Glory be to Him (Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is AllSufficient as a Disposer of affairs." (4:171)
I DON'T KNOW IF YOU WILL ALLOW MY POST, SO ANYWAY ALLOW ME THIS LAST COMMENT:
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: "BEAR WITNESS that we are Muslims."(3:64)
LIKEWISE, BEAR WITNESS THAT I DID MY BEST TO CONVEY TO YOU THE TRUE MESSAGE OF GOD....
MAY PEACE, BLESSINGS, AND THE GUIDANCE OF GOD ALMIGHTY BE UPON YOU.
Anonymous comment on 2008-07-16 17:41:25:
this is stupid....these short statements are taken out of context and do not represent the big idea of the passage they are from...these arent even contradictions
Anonymous comment on 2008-07-29 15:08:22:
What may seem like contradictions to us actually are not. We do not understand everything all at once. It is revealed to us and how much, when, etc. depends on the person, what they can take (as you wouldn't give adult food to a baby) which depends on where they are in their relationship to Christ. Most importantly, if you do not have God's spirit dwelling within you, you will not understand no matter how much you read. There are so many things that God has said that we humans did not know anything about but came to know later. If one is a true follower of Jesus, does the research and does not take the text out of content, the truth will be seen.
Glory to the only one who was and is to come, Jesus Christ.

I fully agree with the last comment. I read and listen to God's words and if I didn't quite understand it I don't get upset. I continue on with my day and something is said or happens that reveals the understanding of the scripture(s) to me. There is nothing that can be said that will discourage me about God or his word because he has proved Himself to me more times than I can count. So if you love and trust in Him do what the word says.

yes, there are all commons correction, justice, rebuke, inspired of the Word of God is literal!
I love to search in the Bible in my life!!
Anonymous comment on 2008-10-17 04:10:06:
People need to understand we are reading a translation, from one lang to another there are problems some words dont have an exact translation ie Love one word in English Three in Hebrew. Things we percive in error in english are either problems in translation or taken out of context, ie Killing, there is a huge difrence between killing and murder. You can justify Killing and it is acceptable ie soldier in battle ect, where as killing is the taking of life for a non justifiable reason.
Anonymous comment on 2008-11-12 11:40:29:
to the commentor on 6-18-2008... Jesus prayed to God because He was (and IS) the Son of God. Obviously this person has not read the Bible, because it clearly teaches that Jesus is the Son of God, and needed God's help while in human form.
John 5:30
"I can of MINE OWN SELF do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."
Matthew 3:17
"And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my BELOVED SON, in whom I am well pleased."
Matthew 8:29
"And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou SON OF GOD? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?"
Hebrews 6:6
"If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the SON OF GOD afresh, and put [him] to an open shame."
The Father, the disciples, and even demons declared that Jesus was the Son of God, and that the Son of God was crucified and raised from the dead.
Why the Koran teaches that God did not have a son is more than I can understand.

Why in the world are we on a King James web-site and every comparison of scripture is in a different version than the King James? Islam is quick to say that Jesus was a messenger from God and a good man but the scripture does not allow such a view. You have to take it all or nothing. If he was a messenger from God and just a man, why would claiming to be God be the message God chose for a mere man to deliver. "Before Moses was, I AM!
You can't call someone a human messenger from God when the message is. I am God! I am the way the truth and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by me. If hes a man, he's lying, and if he's lying, why say he's a good man? Either He's God, or he's a lunatic. Given the fact that the world is full of lunatics, and none of them have the power to lay down their life and TAKE IT UP AGAIN it would be very wise of anyone from any land and any background to take the position that Jesus was God in human flesh. I and my father are one.
Period. Everything before Him looked to His Coming. Every thing was made by Him and for Him! Everything after looks for His return. For God to pay the price for your sins and mine, He had to have the body containing the blood to do so. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins.
He knew the cross was coming long before anyone tried to get him sent there. It was the reason for coming!
It was not some bad thing that happened to a good person. It was planned and carried out exactly the way it was supposed to go. The way it was foretold many many years before. Jesus's crucifixion was the fatal blow promised to Satan in the garden of Eden.
Living a perfect sinless life allowed for the blood he shed to have the value it took to pay what you and I owe for breaking God's law.
You are incapable of keeping the law, no matter how hard you try. That is its purpose. It's impossibility only leaves ONE WAY. Our righteousness carried out in its highest standards and most sincere efforts are garbage to God. Your Salvation depends on accepting a FREE completely undeserved gift. IT IS FINISHED! I beg of you regardless of your back ground to examine your life, realize that if you have broken the smallest of God's laws in the smallest degree and only once ever. You have broken them all. The Full wrath of God and a literal burning fire is already burning and just on the other side of your last breath. Acknowledge that you have sinned. We all have. Realize that the shedding of Jesus's Blood is the only hope you ever have of ever seeing heaven. He is Alive! If you are rading this and do not know 100% sure where you are going to spend your Eternity, then change that NOW. Speak to Jesus right there in front of your computer and tell him that you accept the fact that you can do nothing to deserve or earn Heaven. Ask him to save you and to apply the price he paid to your account. From that point forward, your name is written in the Lambs book of Life and it will never ever be taken out.
I don't care if you are a Muslim, Jewish, Catholic or anything else. If you are human then it applies to you. You may have been sitting in church every week of your life and still be just as lost as deserving of hell as any murderer. You are not guaranteed another minute or day of life. You MUST be born again and if you have any doubts about where you are going to spend eternity, take care of it NOW.

Carnal answers to spiritual literature... nothing else to say..
Anonymous comment on 2009-02-03 11:34:09:
These in reality are not contradictions. Man is both physical and spiritual in nature.
Each teaching is applied to one or the other as needed by God.
Learn the context of the teaching, not just the teaching itself and then the contadictions will not exist. Believe the word of God and trust in him to guide you. Most of the Bible was written from a viewpoint not necessarily western in thinking. Learn to study the word for yourseld and seek the Holy Spirits guidance.

"What may seem like contradictions to us actually are not."
Liar. These are direct contradictions, and to say otherwise means you are insane.
PRO 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
ECC 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.

Do not forget that the Bible was carefully edited by MAN in 325 AD. And it has undergone numerous translations since. It is a creation of MAN and any creation of man is a result of his/her own ambitions, political, social and ecomic
situation. But its message survived the ages and the editorial fervour of the legions of translators. LOVE and FAITH. Like Beatles say Love is all we need, I would like to add: and Faith. For FAITH has nothing to do with RELIGION. Religion is an empty word, invented by a ruler, who tried to find a way how to control his subjects more easily.
So, have FAITH, not RELIGION. And who knows, maybe the peace in this sinful world will prevail at long last.

The King James Version is the best Bible there is and full of truth. The Word of God never contradicts itself, people do. There is One Lord, One Faith, and One Baptism. Jesus was God manifested in the flesh. You must know who the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is. They are only titles, but His name is Jesus. The name of Jesus has all power and without this power you are not going to understand the scriptures, that is why some people think that the Bible condradicts itself. You can't understand God Word if He doesn't give you the revelation. You need His Spirit which is the power of the Holy Ghost! God is not a man that He should lie, neither the Son of Man that He should repent, have He said , and shall He not do it, or have He spoken, and shall He not make it good. We should not add nothing to God's Word and we should not take anything from God's Word. We gotta leave His Word alone and just act upon it. A lot of times some people change God's Word to make them feel good, but God's Word comes to confict you so you can get right, no His word is not going to make you feel good especially when you are wrong. Jesus chasten's the one that He love. Any natural father that love's his kids, he wouldn't hesitate to correct them. Parents that let their kids do what they want do not love their kids. Some people think that they can do what they want and still make it to heaven but that's not true. You must first repent and then be born of the water and of the spirit. There's only one way. Repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus not in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, they are only titles. His name is Jesus so get baptized in Jesus's name and He will fill you with the gift of the Holy Ghost. There is no other name under heaven whereby we must be save other than the name of Jesus!

there is no contradictory... if i were you. ask bro. eli from the philippines, he is the leader of church of God and he will answer you from the bible itself... he memorize the whole scriptures without excess and lacking of details. that in all things, God may be glorified"

Really, contradictions? I do not see contraditions, as an instructor at a local college, If I was grading your English project, you would get an "F".
I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.- Jesus
Jesus is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I hope everyone turns to Jesus. There is a peace no one can explain. And a smile always on my face.

These "contradictions" are completely ridiculous. Read the bible, read the context. Look at culture, look at the inner workings. This is like taking the first line of Sam I am and the last and saying " look dr. seaus doesn't know what he is talking about. sam wouldn't eat the eggs and then he liked them!" read the bible. it might make it a bit clearer.

if you study the bible where is the scripture that states the Holy spirit is god. for if the trinity is to be a doctrine of the bible there logicaly should be a scripture that says the holy spirit is God. For John 1:1 says the word was God ( the word being Jesus) and John 6:27 says the Father is God (God the father) and these are direct statements. so were is the scripture that says directly that the holy spirit is God? I know the usual answer is the scripture that says there are three witnesses in heaven the father, the son and the holy spirit and these three are one. but if you read wesleys notes you will see that they are one in testifing or witnessing as to christ being the savior. not that they are all one God or part of a god head.

From former Muslim and born again Christian now:
Muslims never can undestnad the truth about the LORD JESUS. He is 100% GOD and at the same time 100% man. Lord Jesus came upon earth and took the flesh, and borned like us, became hunger, wept, ..., and at the ame time he communied with the Father.
Muslims can not see the GOD thirnity. God has revealed so many examples, but because they are blinded by a man who was the false prophet, they are blinded spiritually.
Water has three forms, ice, liquid, and gas or steam and all three are one witout any difference, is not this true? Can we say there are three waters? Of course not!!
God has revealed himself in three forms, GOD the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit and these three are one GOD.

Like the way you cut off the first half of this verse; the full verse is: [22] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
It appears that many parts are not taken in context they are written. The first part of this clearly clarifys the meaning of this verse. one needs to read a few verses above and below the verse in question to get a more clear meaning of it. Also like they way there is a mix of different versions (KJV, NIV, etc)
Matthew 10:22 – “…He who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Notice it doesn’t say he who at one point of time stood firm, or once gave his heart to Jesus. It says he who stands firm (consistently) to the end.

Regarding 2 Comment _ Should we store in things
I'm disagree for saying yes
because Jesus there talked about the talents that God has given us for our edification and we must make use of it and increase our talents and gifts by getting closet God more and more in prayers and preaching the word of God to others who do not know our Lord Jesus Christ, so Jesus uses parable in order to make us easy to understand the nature of God that is what God expect us, otherwise he didn't speak about material things. God wants us to edify ourselves and we must try to be holy as Jesus Christ.

Anonymous comment on 2008-06-18 19:26:33: This is against my Muslim Brother who says God is only one person.
My dear friend, nowadays, when people say there is no God I'm not amazing at your saying that God is only one person.
but I'll ask Only one question from you that have you ever prayed and asked or discerned from God what is his nature. do you know the nature of God, if you ask he will give anything, if it is bad he will reveal you that it is bad, yet you want the same, he let you to have your desire even though it is bad.
First you must learn what is kingdom of God, but I will tel you one thing Muslim people are very carnal, therefore they will never get any revelation about God or His kingdom. Bible says that God created Adam only with a one woman that is Eve, but your people try to have 7 women for a one man. God is holy first you come out from your Filthiness then God will reveal you everything. Otherwise, Satan will beguile you had been ever happen to your people. why don't you read the holy prophet's messages such as Isiah, sorry you can't understand those words, becuase you have laid a foundation your own. but God's will is not you will, firt try to understand the pathetic situation of Muslim people they fight each other and kill each other , divisions among them, form terrorist organization in the name of God, One day his wrath will destroy you.
if you have any question don't go after men and argue forward your question to God he will guide you, but you must be a spiritual person because God is a spirit. put away your carnal thoughts and acts.

there is no original copy to the bible except for gospels narrated by unkwon authors and letters..throughout history it has been changed by many different authors who thought that their own version of the bible is the way to goa and therfore many gigantic beliefs had been altered or simply discarded..are people so naive to believe that the bible is the actual word of God..that's foolish

I agree with the comment on 12-01-2008.
If you also look at John 1:1 through 1:18
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Again, John 1:1- “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God".
John 1:14 "And the Word was made flesh". Therefore, God was made flesh. God with us (as Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, the Saviour, the King of kings and Lord of lords)!
John 1:18 - "No man hath seen God at any time". We would not have been able to behold (look at) the full glory of God! For God is Holy! Therefore, He came to us as Jesus! The only begotten of God. This allowed us (sinners) to behold His glory (on earth).
Note: John 1:6-16
John the Baptist was sent from God to bear witness of (Jesus) the Light.
Also note: John 1:10 “He was in the world and the world was made by him”.
Also, look at John 14:5-11
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

i was an abstain person from religious matter since for me to be a moral person does not meant to be religious and religious person does not guaranted to be a moral person. we heard about it in some cases. but though it come to my mind a question "why iam here, what the purpose i have to be here..? who is God..etc..so to find those question should be in religion matter. i read lot of coment in you tube and website. but it just make me confuse. all said they are the truth. till i bought 2 holy book. Bible and quran. as my consideration since the population of those religion converter among the higest. i have finished both book. and come to conclution. both giving good value for life and hereafter. just like to share i found quran has clear statement what is God..and what the purpose we are living in this world. story of those prophets are different then bible. we can take an example from their life where some opposite from bible.quran teach about responsibility. that THING that make it different. something that comes to my heart. if God mercifull why He choose KILLING as salvation for us..? where in Quran teach about forgiveness as simple when we pray to Him sincerely..i am still learning but we can use our mind to be judge to those book.1. from language 2. from contain 3. from autenticity. i found on those criteria i made. Quran is better. just read both book and be judge our selves. ignore all those you tube or website for a moment. read page to page BOTH BOOKS

What we all must remember is that these texts have been written and rewritten hundreds of times, by humans, in different languages, etc..What is translated from one is not the same in another. Do not trust what humans write, but follow your heart. And to the Muslim. Remember, Jesus came to the Earth as a human, though he was still the Son of God. Why would he NOT pray to his Father? Also, we need to stop comparing what is said in the Old Testament to what is in the New. The death of Christ changed everything for us, so the comparison is not valid.
