People's Bible Notes for 2 Corinthians 4:18

2Co 4:18 While we look not at things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. Our eyes are fixed on the unseen things beyond, the glory that the flesh cannot behold. Hence, we turn away from present afflictions as momentary, as belonging to the seen and the transient, and only regard them as adding to the weight of our unseen, eternal joys. Our goal is beyond. For the things which are seen [are] temporal. All material things, and all that the world values, are perishing. All things of sense shall pass away; Caesar's greatness, the might of Roman power, the strength of man, the glory of the magnificence of Corinth; even the visible heavens and the earth. But the things which are not seen [are] eternal. The things which the sense see not, but which faith reveals--God, heaven, the unseen spirit. Let the eye be turned upon the unseen, rather than the things of sense.

Discussion for 2 Corinthians 4

The god of this age is Satan, he keeps lost sinners in the dark. (John 12:31) He is the ruler of this world in which we live today. Read Romans 11:25 and 2nd Corinthian 3:14-16. Satan doesn't want the light of salvation to shine in the hearts of sinners.

GOD is the light of salvation. Amen!

God is the light of salvation.

Richard!: You need to read that verse again. It says the god of this world has blinded the minds of those that don't believe. god of this world is Satan. He is still blinding people so they don't see The Light. Have you been called? John6:44--forgiving 1John 1:9- You "will" be Baptized with The Holy Ghost Matthew3:11. You will "know" impossible not to know!

IT is taught that 2 Corinthians 4:4 is a reference to the devil, but that is incorrect, rather it is GOD, and I would warn those who teach that it refers to Satan, that this is blasphemy.

This is by far an excellent and careful sought passage of scripture. The love of a mighty God who wrought His face within the face of Jesus to give light unto a world without light. We can behold the face of God in the secret place where no man can dare to enter. This is a place where two can truly become one, this secret place keeps us by faith wrapped in the bosom off Almighty God.

We face every day trials but God is always by our side some times it's seemed bleak and endless the trial but there are always a way out and when Father carried us through we are well carried through. And no one can stop the hands of God that brought us through.

That we shouldn't only emphasis on the things we see but those that are not seen.for those that are seen will pass away and the unseen will live forever.chapter 4:18
