Wesley's Notes for 2 Chronicles 16:9

16:9 Done foolishly - It is a foolish thing to lean on a broken reed, when we have the rock of ages to rely upon. Perfect - Upright and sincere, as thine is not. He was sincere in the general course of his life, but some particulars, whereof this is one, his heart did not perfectly cleave to God.

I believe God is looking for a people who are devoted to HIM so He can show Himself through those who are empty of self. So He can take residence in those who want to be used by Him.so He can bring Glory to Himself and draw the lost back to Him.

I like this verse because it shows how Jehovah is looking for a way to show his strength in behalf of those who strive to serve Him whole-heartedly. Sometimes people think that God only looks for the bad or only notices the bad we do. This verse shows that he is a loving God who strives to look for the good in others and even looks for a way to support such ones.
