1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vaine thing?
3 Let vs breake their bandes asunder, and cast away their cords from vs.
4 Hee that sitteth in the heauens shal laugh: the Lord shall haue them in derision.
5 Then shall hee speake vnto them in his wrath, and vexe them in his sore displeasure.
6 Yet haue I set my King vpon my holy hill of Sion.
9 Thou shalt breake them with a rod of iron, thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potters vessell.
10 Bee wise now therefore, O yee Kings: be instructed ye Iudges of the earth.
11 Serue the Lord with feare, and reioyce with trembling.

Psalms 2:8 - Practically the dominion of this world is presently in satanic control; including major global institutions like UN, World Bank, WHO, etc... That rule will be transferred to the rule of Christ. Ask what the Lord says and you will see it.
Loye's Psalms Chapter 2 comment on 3/27/2013, 2:39am...
Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing? Because their evil acts and ways of life are about to be utterly abolished. Their evil institutions are about to be destroyed, and the kingdom of Christ about to be ushered in. They are fighting a war of which the outcome is a forgone conclusion. The Lord will make fun of them. They have had their day, now it is the day of the Lord. The Lord will have His way, who then can stop? The heathen are wasting their time revolting, they had better align their ways and thought to the kingdom of Christ lest they perish from the way when the wrath of the son is kindled in a little while.

To trust God is the personal thing and is the relationship that only you know.
Jerome's Psalms Chapter 2 comment on 2/17/2013, 12:39pm...
I thought this, David was drawing strength from his faith, since the "kings" and "rulers" were plotting war against him. And even the "heathen" were "raging" and imagining vainly that his "cords" would be cast from among them.

It is spiritually discerned. It is saying Judah is called to repentance. Read Jeremiah 5:1-31.

God already knows what wickedness lays in hearts of noble men and woman. He knows about your plots and games of destruction. It's good to be reminded about the power named JESUS.
Thomas colbert's Psalms Chapter 2 comment about verse 12 on 9/10/2012, 3:52pm...
the hebrew bible reads;Do homage in purity, lest he
(God) be angry. It says nothing about kissing a
Son.This is the ot these are jews.they would have
been confused as to what this psalm would be
saying.the church father jerome was aware of the
original readings and did explain why he had
translated the line differently.Once you put the
word son (in Capital letters) you have a whole
different theology.same goes when the words
Christ or Messiah is used in place of the word
annointed. When people read either of these
capitalized words right away they think Jesus
but this is not what this jewish writer meant
