In Matthew 3:11 this describes "Water Baptism in preparation of Repentance of Sins", as John the Baptist made the way straight for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, who will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and with fire. Ref: 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Christ Our Savior, Truth, Life

Geraldine, this is a mystery Matt. 1:8 says, Mary was found to be with child of the Holy Ghost therefore I believe that passage is stating that the Holy Ghost was with Jesus was formed by God the Father by the Holy Ghost. Jesus said the works that he did or miracles was not of a human or fleshly orgin but the father in him or the Holy Ghost. I believe this was a renewing of the Holy Ghost Matt3:16
