Whosoeuer therefore shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this adulterous and sinfull generation, of him also shall the Sonne of man bee ashamed, when he commeth in the glory of his Father, with the holy Angels.

What Mark 8:38 is saying is that we as Christians should stand for Christ and his word no matter what problem or situation you encounter. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.
