Tim Kelton's comment on 2012-12-17 11:16:42:

In John 8:41, Jesus said: Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one father, even God. In this scripture they were telling Jesus that, they knew who their father and mother were. They knew that Mary and Joseph were not married when Mary conceived, but did know that Joseph was not his father, (They did not have and understand the Holy Ghost involvement). Thus the true meaning of fornication is reviled: Mary was Joseph’s espoused wife, Joseph had not taken her before marriage, (Chosen for him by his parents, from a child). This is still the custom in some countries today.
