(this is a scan from the exact, authentic, original 1611 'HE' King James Bible)

1 Iames a seruant of God, and of the Lord Iesus Christ, to the twelue Tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

2 My brethren, count it all ioy when ye fall into diuers temptations,

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience,

4 But let patience haue her perfect worke, that ye may be perfect, and entier, wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lacke wisedome, let him aske of God, that giueth to all men liberally, and vpbraideth not: and it shalbe giuen him.

6 But let him aske in faith, nothing wauering: for he that wauereth is like a waue of the sea, driuen with the wind, and tossed.

7 For let not that man thinke that he shall receiue any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is vnstable in all his wayes.

9 Let the brother of low degree, reioyce in that he is exalted:

10 But the rich, in that hee is made low: because as the floure of the grasse he shall passe away.

11 For the Sunne is no sooner risen with a burning heate, but it withereth the grasse; and the flowre thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his wayes.

12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when hee is tried, hee shall receiue the crowne of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that loue him.

13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with euill, neither tempteth he any man.

14 But euery man is tempted, when hee is drawen away of his owne lust, and entised.

15 Then when lust hath conceiued, it bringeth forth sinne: and sinne, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

16 Doe not erre, my beloued brethren.

17 Euery good gift, and euery perfect gift is from aboue, & commeth downe from the Father of lights, with whom is no variablenesse, neither shadow of turning.

18 Of his owne will begate hee vs, with the word of Trueth, that wee should bee a kinde of first fruites of his creatures.

19 Wherefore my beloued brethren, let euery man bee swift to heare, slow to speake, slow to wrath.

20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousnesse of God.

21 Wherefore lay apart all filthinesse, and superfluitie of naughtinesse, & receiue with meeknesse the engrafted word, which is able to saue your soules.

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers onely, receiuing your owne selues.

23 For if any be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like vnto a man beholding his naturall face in a glasse:

24 For hee beholdeth himselfe, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what maner of man he was.

25 But who so looketh into the perfect Law of libertie, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetfull hearer, but a doer of the worke, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

26 If any man among you seeme to be religious, & bridleth not his tongue, but deceiueth his owne heart, this mans religion is vaine.

27 Pure religion and vndefiled before God and the Father, is this, to visit the fatherlesse and widowes in their affliction, and to keepe himselfe vnspotted from the world.

One's James Chapter 1 comment on 5/17/2013, 11:23am...

My thoughts on James chapter one is:God reminding us that we have to keep are focus in this life on his will; Forgetting are own; that are patiences frees us from suffering, that are wisdom, that God has given to us, keeps us making the right decisions, at the right times, and that we don't just read are word, and not apply it in are lives.
And it also exposes the religous spirit; That Demon Spirit that keep us believing that we're Holy and more acceptable to God than the Homosexual, than the theif, than the lier, than the promiscuous person : it is the same spirit that ruled in the pharisees that ended up murdering Jesus, and is still trying to do the same in are lives..........

Blessed book of James is one we should read eveyday too keep are memory fresh, and are focus on God's will, before us. Before we face the world and evrything it has to throw at us. Bless God for his word, Saints, and remember are spirit needs food, just like are body does, to become and remain strong in battle.

Amen! and again; Bless God saints for what he has already done for you, and remain humble that he may use us to are max capacity.

Micheline Kpadonou's James Chapter 1 comment on 5/09/2013, 5:37am...

We Christians need to allow the Spirit of God help us follow the bible in our actions. There is need for us to stop being religious and become doers of the word of God. We don't want to be helping unbelievers blaspheme God because of our actions. Therefore, our daily prayer should be: Lord please take control of my tongue and temper.

Don's James Chapter 1 comment on 5/06/2013, 10:16am...

James is committed to the words of Jesus and follows him and not other apostles or other Christians. Jesus is both God and man. Jesus said he is in us and the Father is in him. James delivers a gentle gospel that is wonderful to teach to children.

Bob's James Chapter 1 comment on 5/01/2013, 6:15am...

I see this Chapter of James like the rest of the book of James it is instruction on HOW to live the Christian life and be an example of Christ before others and James points out in this Chapter again the most dangerous instrument we all have a problem with at times the tongue. Just think of what we Christians could do for our Lord and Savior if we would let Him rule our tongues

Robert's James Chapter 1 comment about verse 27 on 3/30/2013, 12:58am...

Where are all the comments for this verse ? Maybe one of the most important in the NT. Helping the helpless is one of Gods great desires . Want to please God ? Help the helpless when you can .
Live a holy life because without Holiness no man shall see the Lord .
When we do help others , we do get blessed by God , but if Holiness is missing so is the magnitude of the blessing .

I love reading God’s word and I just want to thank him for the blessings I've been trying to keep myself humble like the bible says so that I can not be tempted with evil.

Patric's James Chapter 1 comment about verse 3 on 3/23/2013, 2:03pm...

This scripture lets me know that patience has to work and finish its work, then comes the glory. So don't faint. I love it!
