I\'m having some difficulty in understanding the last clause, \"[He made] the stars also.\" I\'ve read elsewhere that the words inside the brackets (as well as the last word - \"also\") are not in the original. They were added during translation as help in understanding the verse. So to add the sentence \"He made the stars also.\" seems to me to be saying God made the stars together with the sun and the moon -- after He has created the heavens and the earth in verse 1. Looks funny to me. The closest (and much easier for me to digest) meaning must be that the stars were (made) to rule the night also. Or if we move a little farther back (v.14), as signs for seasons, etc.
The sun and the moon could have been made after God made the stars (heavens) therefore to say that he made the stars also during or after He made the sun and the moon doesn\'t fit logic and science.

My brothers and sisters, please, don’t be deceived. You cannot use science to explain God’s word, because the bible has made us to understand that God’s ways are higher than man’s. Just as the heaven is high above the earth. Remain blessed.
