1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

2 Honour thy father and mother, (which is the first commandement with promise,)

3 That it may bee well with thee, and thou maiest liue long on the earth.

4 And yee fathers, prouoke not your children to wrath: but bring them vp in the nourture and admonition of the Lord.

5 Seruants, bee obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with feare and trembling, in singlenesse of your heart, as vnto Christ:

6 Not with eye seruice as men pleasers, but as the seruants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart:

7 With good will doing seruice, as to the Lord, and not to men,

8 Knowing that whatsoeuer good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receiue of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

9 And ye masters, do the same things vnto them, forbearing threatning: knowing that your master also is in heauen, neither is there respect of persons with him.

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, & in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the deuill.

12 For wee wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darknes of this world, against spirituall wickednes in high places.

13 Wherfore take vnto you the whole armour of God, that yee may be able to withstand in the euill day, and hauing done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, hauing your loynes girt about with trueth, and hauing on the breast-plate of righteousnesse:

15 And your feete shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace.

16 Aboue all, taking the shielde of Faith, wherewith yee shall bee able to quench all the fierie dartes of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of saluation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying alwayes with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseuerance, and supplication for all Saints,

19 And for mee, that vtterance may be giuen vnto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make knowen the mysterie of the Gospel:

20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds, that therein I may speake boldly, as I ought to speake.

21 But that yee also may know my affaires, and how I doe, Tychicus a beloued brother, and faithfull minister in the Lord, shall make knowen to you all things.

22 Whom I haue sent vnto you for the same purpose, that yee might know our affaires, and that he might comfort your hearts.

23 Peace be to the brethren, and loue, with faith from God the Father, and the Lord Iesus Christ.

24 Grace be with all them that loue our Lord Iesus Christ in sinceritie.Written from Rome vnto the Ephesians by Tychicus.

Steven's Ephesians Chapter 6 comment about verse 18 on 5/14/2013, 6:15pm...

I think the phrase "in the Spirit" would be more uniquely meaningful if rendered "in (the) spirit". Meaning, our human spirit. For this is where we contact God. God is not only "in" our spirit but also "mingled" with it: "He who is joined to the Lord is on spirit". When interpreted in this way it removes all question of how to pray in "the Spirit", which, properly, would be interpreted as in The Spirit of God; i.e. the Holy Spirit. It should be obvious that we must be in The Spirit when we pray but the issue is this: where is that, specificall, and how do we enter there or, for that matter, how do we know when we are there?

if Satan depends on god's permition to do things
then he is a foe.is he is a god like he claim,a
real god do not need permition from someone else
to do the things he want to.

I am not exactly sure why Paul used the word "shod in Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

I can only imagine he may have been thinking of why you would show a horse and why do you show a horse? The main reason for shoeing a horse is to keep the bony column in alignment, so when the foot strikes the ground, the entire bony column including the spine,equally absorbs the concussion.

why did Paul use the word shod which is a term used for shoing horses feet? Why not properly fitted or some other term? Looking forward to feed back

JMH's Ephesians Chapter 6 comment on 2/26/2013, 7:11am...

@Chrys,
As you need chapters to teach on how to be born again. You may want to start with John 3 which speaks about being born again. Also Hebrews which speaks about faith; 2 Corinthians 7:10 speaks about repentance. Acts 2:8, 10 which speaks of the water baptism in Jesus name and being filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost which is initially evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. This is positive proof that the Holy Ghost resides inside you. I pray that the Lord bless you as you teach on salvation and the importance of the water baptism in JESUS’ name. Acts 4:12 neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Also in John 14:6, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. I pray this helps.

I think is very clear and perfect for those who do that to know that they are not serving God but men. So that by reading it they will understand the true way of serving Lord. Please I need chapters to teach how to get born again. Thanks.

CHUCK's Ephesians Chapter 6 comment on 2/22/2013, 9:15pm...

I think it means, we need to be prepared for the evil that is in the world and the evil that is to come.
