And King Astyages was gathered to his fathers, and Cyrus of Persia receiued his kingdome.

And Daniel conuersed with the king, and was honored aboue all his friends.

Now the Babylonians had an Idol called Bel, and there were spent vpon him euery day twelue great measures of fine flowre, and fourtie sheepe, and sixe vessels of wine.

And the king worshipped it, and went daily to adore it: but Daniel worshipped his owne God. And the king said vnto him, Why doest not thou worship Bel?

Who answered and said, Because I may not worship idols made with hands, but the liuing God, who hath created the heauen, and the earth, and hath soueraigntie ouer all flesh.

Then saide the King vnto him, Thinkest thou not that Bel is a liuing god? seest thou not how much he eateth and drinketh euery day?

Then Daniel smiled, and said, O king, be not deceiued: for this is but clay within, and brasse without, and did neuer eate or drinke any thing.

So the king was wroth, and called for his Priests, and said vnto them, If yee tell me not who this is that deuoureth these expenses, ye shall die.

But if ye can certifie me that Bel deuoureth them, then Daniel shall die: for hee hath spoken blasphemie against Bel. And Daniel sayd vnto the king, Let it be according to thy word.

(Now the Priests of Bel were threescore and tenne, beside their wiues and children) and the king went with Daniel into the temple of Bel.

So Bels Priests said, Loe, wee goe out: but thou, O king, set on the meate, and make ready the wine, and shut the doore fast, and seale it with thine owne signet:

And to morrow, when thou commest in, if thou findest not that Bel hath eaten vp all, wee will suffer death; or else Daniel, that speaketh falsely against vs.

And they little regarded it: for vnder the table they had made a priuie entrance, whereby they entred in continually, and consumed those things.

So when they were gone forth, the king set meates before Bel. Now Daniel had commanded his seruants to bring ashes, and those they strewed throughout all the temple, in the presence of the king alone: then went they out and shut the doore, & sealed it with the kings signet, and so departed.

Now in the night came the Priests with their wiues and children (as they were woont to doe) and did eate and drinke vp all.

In the morning betime the king arose, and Daniel with him.

And the king said, Daniel, are the seales whole? And he said, Yea, O king, they be whole.

And assoone as he had opened the doore, the king looked vpon the table, and cried with a loude voice, Great art thou, O Bel, and with thee is no deceit at all.

Then laughed Daniel, and helde the king that he should not goe in, and sayd, Behold now the pauement, and marke well whose footsteps are these.

And the king said, I see the footsteps of men, women and children: and then the king was angry,

And tooke the Priests, with their wiues and children, who shewed him the priuy doores, where they came in, and consumed such things as were vpon the table.

Therefore the king slewe them, and deliuered Bel into Daniels power, who destroyed him and his temple.

And in that same place there was a great Dragon, which they of Babylon worshipped.

And the king said vnto Daniel, Wilt thou also say that this is of brasse? loe, he liueth, he eateth and drinketh, thou canst not say, that he is no liuing God: therefore worship him.

Then said Daniel vnto the king, I will worship the Lord my God: for he is the liuing God.

But giue me leaue, O king, and I shall slay this dragon without sword or staffe. The king sayde, I giue thee leaue.

Then Daniel tooke pitch, fat, and haire, and did seethe them together, and made lumpes thereof: this hee put in the Dragons mouth, and so the Dragon burst in sunder: and Daniel said, Loe, these are the gods you worship.

When they of Babylon heard that, they tooke great indignation, and conspired against the king, saying, The king is become a Iew, and he hath destroyed Bel, he hath slaine the Dragon, and put the Priests to death.

So they came to the king, and said, Deliuer vs Daniel, or else we will destroy thee and thine house.

Now when the king sawe that they pressed him sore, being constrained, he deliuered Daniel vnto them:

Who cast him into the lions den, where he was sixe dayes.

And in the den there were seuen lyons, and they had giuen them euery day two carkeises, and two sheepe: which then were not giuen to them, to the intent they might deuoure Daniel.

Now there was in Iury a Prophet called Habacuc, who had made pottage, & had broken bread in a boule, and was going into the field, for to bring it to the reapers.

But the Angel of the Lord said vnto Habacuc, Goe carrie the dinner that thou hast into Babylon vnto Daniel, who is in the lions denne.

And Habacuc said, Lord, I neuer saw Babylon: neither do I know where the denne is.

Then the Angel of the Lord tooke him by the crown, and bare him by the haire of his head, and through the vehemencie of his spirit, set him in Babylon ouer the den.

And Habacuc cryed, saying, O Daniel, Daniel, take the dinner which God hath sent thee.

And Daniel saide, Thou hast remembred mee, O God: neither hast thou forsaken them that seeke thee, and loue thee.

So Daniel arose and did eate: and the Angel of the Lord set Habacuc in his owne place againe immediatly.

Upon the seuenth day the king went to bewaile Daniel: and when he came to the den, he looked in, and behold, Daniel was sitting.

Then cried the king with a loud voyce, saying, Great art thou, O Lord God of Daniel, and there is none other besides thee.

And he drew him out: and cast those that were the cause of his destruction into the den: and they were deuoured in a moment before his face.

I think the this book is a good book to read. It should be with the book of Daniel in the Bible. I don't understand why it is considered uninspired by someone. I remember when I first read it, years ago, there were many people that were not familiar with it. Its the story of Daniel, a great man of God.

It is the inspired scripture. To DARYL not trying to call you out, but saint do laugh and rejoice when a victory is done towards evil people. Study all the script and you will see how, Isreal, david and many others rejoiced when they, or the father killed off the enemies. Things and scriptures are hidden for a reason. Mankind tries his best to take the father out of the pics. They rewrite, change names, change descriptions, all to throw his people of. His people parish for the lack of knowledge, but the TRUTH is always revealed.

The wonderful thing about history is that you can go backwards and find out what happened. And those that love their Bible know their bible history. All of this was part of the original Bible (including KJV), until 1825 when the British and Foreign Bible Society decided to remove it. Notice it is not the name of any church.. Those who truly love the Bible love ALL parts, and do not "pick and choose" (which is the meaning of the Greek word "heretic").

Yahuwah tells us in his word that his people will not be in the dark of who and what he is capable of or who he is! If you really want to know the truth then you will search it out. It also says in the word that he people will know the mysteries. I think if you are truly walking in the spirit, the spirit will guide you in all things. But if you choose to walk in the flesh then you will have a fleshly understanding. If we are to worship Yahuwah, it has to be in spirit and in truth. Make sure that you’re seeking the truth thought the Holy Spirit. I believe these stories are just part of the puzzle we must understand. We will not really know everything till we are in Heaven. I sure like knowing that Yahuwah talks through every person and story that is laid before us. We also have a story and maybe one day someone will read what Yahuwah has done for us. Inspired or not I don't know, But I do know this, they are encouraging stories and I know that I need all the encouragement I can get with the times we are in and it is not about what we are to do for one another. I hear so much tearing down, we have to have some relief somewhere. This world is a wicked world; all that you read in these stories is the same things that happen every day in this world. So if you disagree with this stories, it would be better you live in a perfect world, but because of sin this world is not perfect and until Christ Jesus returns, it is going to stay that way. We live in a broken world where evil has a foot in. So I leave you with this: “Let Jesus be your guide and you will never go wrong”. Yahuwah bless and keep all you saints!

JANEEN's Bel and the Dragon Chapter 1 comment on 3/01/2013, 10:11pm...

We automatically do not want to believe that these things are not true like the powers of darkness are not larger than life. We seem to forget that Leviathan is in Job 41 described as a huge sea monster as well as in other parts of the Bible. In Genesis 6 the angels mated with women and had giants and not all of them died. Those kids according to the Book of Enoch and the Neanderthal bones that have been found show that those kids were not normal. The Bible speaks of dragons over 16 times. Whether that was dinosaurs or something else we may never know. Apocrypha means hidden. These were hidden to be shown to a generation that would believe and when all these things would come back. Just DO NOT FALL TO THE GNOSTIC FOOLISHNESS! They were not put in the Bible because the knowledge of these books, though a good read, cannot save ones soul. Not because they are not true. I would be careful on what I say whether it is fake or not about these books. The old Rabbis that studied them believe they were real. If they are the true Word of God then they are Him Hebrews 10:7; John 1:1, 14 and we would be blaspheming if we said they were false Mark 3:28, 29. The Gnostic Books like Adam and Eve, Book of Judas, Mary Magdalene etc... the Rabbis did not believe were inspired by God. All scripture in the King James Version of the Holy Bible (along with the Book of Enoch) is inspired by God (2 Timothy3:16) who cannot lie Titus 1:2. God Bless in Jesus Name.

Dragon? How about Dinosaurs. Pitch, fat and hair would cause an intestinal blockage and burst the animal as it could not eliminate waste from subsequent meals.

This does NOT line up with the TRUE BIBLE. Know what the Bible says and you will not be deceived.

Floyd's Bel and the Dragon Chapter 1 comment on 1/27/2013, 8:04pm...

This was an interesting read. I like how this story does not contradict the Scriptures of the Old Testament. Just like the book of Enoch which clearly explains what took place in the time of Genesis before the flood. There is slot if extra information that has been purposely left out of the Bible we have today. See the Catholic Church had gone to great measures to only allow enough information to be revealed. That is how they have kept power and control over many nations. Give people only enough to keep their interest and then control them with manmade rules and regulations as to how and when one can worship God. It is Semi-Anti-Christ to have done this thing. The book of Revelation speaks about the Great Whore Of Babylon as to how she puts herself up to be worshipped in the place of Christ Jesus. Keep reading, researching and pray to the Holy Spirit and the wisdom of God will continue to be revealed to those who thirst for God. Obey God rather than mankind.
