Ac 8:37 If thou believest, etc.? This verse is omitted in the Revised Version. It is not found in the oldest extant manuscripts, but was certainly in manuscripts older than any now extant. It is referred to by Irenaeus in the second century, and by Augustine in the fourth. Whether written by Luke or not, it shows that the custom of the early church was to require such a confession of faith. With all thine heart. A living faith must seize upon and control the heart.

Acts 8:37 corresponds with other portions of scripture in the Bible, both New Testament and Old Testament. Romans 10, John 3:16-18, and Genesis 15:6, among others. I don\'t see why it isn\'t in all the versions.

God’s word is AWESOME, and I just believe what it says about Acts 8:37. There was a question asked by Philip; if you believe that Jesus is the son of God you will be saved. But you have to believe with all thine heart and that takes FAITH and I do believe that Jesus is the son of GOD. Amen, I do.

Acts 8:37 is probably a more thorough reminder that we should have our hearts and minds in serious mode and consider what we are about to commit to, but not being included doesn\'t really change the meaning or point one tiny bit. Don\'t be distracted or get into Bible Versions War, unless the difference in word usage contradicts The Good News of Christ and/or turns us away from accepting Him as Savior of the World.
