1 The Elder vnto the welbeloued Gaius, whom I loue in the trueth:

2 Beloued, I wish aboue all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, euen as thy soule prospereth.

3 For I reioyced greatly when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, euen as thou walkest in the trueth.

4 I haue no greater ioy, then to heare that my children walke in truth.

5 Beloued, thou doest faithfully whatsoeuer thou doest to the Brethren, and to strangers:

6 Which haue borne witnesse of thy charitie before the Church: whome if thou bring forward on their iourney after a godly sort, thou shalt doe well:

7 Because that for his Names sake they went foorth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.

8 We therefore ought to receiue such, that we might be fellow helpers to the trueth.

9 I wrote vnto the Church, but Diotrephes, who loueth to haue the preeminence among them, receiueth vs not.

10 Wherefore if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against vs with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth hee himselfe receiue the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the Church.

11 Beloued, follow not that which is euill, but that which is good. He that doth good, is of God: but hee that doth euill, hath not seene God.

12 Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the trueth it selfe: yea, and we also beare record, and ye know that our record is true.

13 I had many things to write, but I will not with inke and pen write vnto thee.

14 But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and wee shall speake face to face. Peace bee to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name.

To Katoe's, just keep on showing love. If love can't win them nothing will. I had a co-worker that despised me because of a permotion for over twenty years. But now she is my best friend. If your friend is a christian and serious about serving God He will reveal truth to her always and one day she will accept it. God Bless you both.

"For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth." (III John 1:3)

It's good to have Gaius's.

III John 1:9, says, "I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church." (III John 1:9-10)

Diotrephes was a head in the church, but he was not walking in truth.

It's good to know if a Diotrephes is not walking in truth, there is a Gaius who is.

Gaius received commendation for walking in truth. He was commended for not only helping those who were "brethren," but, also for helping the "strangers." He received and helped those who went forth for the name of Jesus Christ.

He was commended for doing the right thing; that right thing being, walking in truth; specifically, receiving and helping those who had gone out for the name of Jesus.

Diotrephes behavior was characterized as being evil. Gaius was exhorted not to follow that which was evil, (Diotrephes's example) but, to follow that which was good. Gaius was told, "He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God." (III John 1:12)

It would seem the implication here is Diotrephes has not seen God, though he was exerting a leadership in the church.

Diotrephes loved preeminence among the church; Gaius walked in truth.

Diotrephes was separated from truth and that created division; Gaius walked in truth and love. When the work of God can be hindered by a Diotrephes, God has Gaius.

I BELIEVE THE LORD WANT US TO PROSPER BE HEALTHY BUT MOST OF ALL HE WANT US TO GROW SPIRITUALLY AS WELL; THE GROWTH OF OUR SOUL (SPIRIT MAN) DETERMINE HOW HEALTHY AND WEALTHY WE BECOME
