Wesley's Notes for 2 Kings 4:26

4:26 It is - So it was in some respects, because it was the will of a wise and good God, and therefore best for her. When God calls away our dearest relations by death, it becomes us to say, it is well both with us and them. It is well, for all is well that God doth: all is well with them that are gone, if they are gone to heaven. And all is well with us that stay behind, if by the affliction we are furthered in our way thither.

This is amazing and God is forever faithful to his children.

CommentThe woman exercised faith by runing to the prophet and answering him that all was well while it was not so. and Gpd raised her son acording to her pronoucement. God of Elija is great.

We should be faithful before the lord always
  • AG Samuel
Our LORD is very steadfast in His character and doings that in every thing He does, Life is certain! Only for a little season debt reigned in the son of the prophets's family; only for a little while did the food in the pot remain bitter; only for a few hours did the Shunamite's son remain dead. The moment the power of God becomes active via faith in us as was seen in Elijah's, everything bows!

The woman in this chapter took care of the prophet of God and received a prophet's reward.
    She was blessed abundantly.
