1 Paul called to be an Apostle of Iesus Christ, through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
3 Grace be vnto you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.
4 I thanke my God alwayes on your behalfe, for the grace of God which is giuen you by Iesus Christ,
5 That in euery thing yee are enriched by him, in all vtterance, and in all knowledge:
6 Euen as the Testimony of Christ was confirmed in you.
7 So that yee come behinde in no gift; wayting for the comming of our Lord Iesus Christ,
9 God is faithful by whom ye were called vnto the felowship of his Sonne Iesus Christ our Lord.
13 Is Christ diuided? was Paul crucified for you? or were yee baptized in the name of Paul?
14 I thanke God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius:
15 Lest any should say, that I had baptized in mine owne name.
16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
22 For the Iewes require a signe, and the Greekes seeke after wisedome.
25 Because the foolishnesse of God is wiser then men: and the weakenesse of God is stronger then men.
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
31 That according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Timothy Wayne George's 1 Corinthians Chapter 1 comment about verse 17 on 3/19/2013, 9:59pm...
We are saved by the Cross of Jesus Christ. It is true that we are saved past tense, being saved present tense, and will be saved future tense. The Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but is the power of God to those who are being saved. We will be entirely sanctified at glorification when we see Jesus. We were justified at salvation when we placed our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at the Cross. We are being sanctified by the power of the Holy Spirit presently. We preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block, and the Greeks foolishness. Yet to us, it is the power of God, unto salvation. So thank God for the Cross of Jesus Christ, and let our boast forever be in the Cross of Jesus Christ.
George's 1 Corinthians Chapter 1 comment about verse 27 on 3/12/2013, 5:29pm...
Because of Satan's pride. He blinds the mind to be strong, successful, and independent. But if found to be weak, then also a failure, condemnable, and worthless. But God's wisdom is to choose the weak and rejected to display his power. Showing that only God can, and that his divine nature is greater. His glory then can reach those blinded by pride.
R. D. Mattock's 1 Corinthians Chapter 1 comment on 3/10/2013, 9:33pm...
Foolishness - Folly. That is, it appears to them to be contemptible and foolish, or unworthy of belief. To the great mass of the Jews, and to the pagan philosophers, and indeed, to the majority of the people of this world, it has ever appeared foolishness. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Barbara's 1 Corinthians Chapter 1 comment on 2/21/2013, 10:31am...
Paul is telling us God is about Love, and that also what is asked of us, to show Jesus at the cross was not in vain.
Damson's 1 Corinthians Chapter 1 comment on 2/09/2013, 12:53am...
The battle against the flesh cannot be won in flesh, but by abiding in his presence with his spirit. Let no flesh glory in the presence of God.
