People's Bible Notes for 1 Corinthians 14:2

1Co 14:2 For he that speaketh in an [unknown] language. Hath the gift of tongues. The tenor of Paul's remarks shows that the Corinthians placed too high a comparative estimate on this gift. In the spirit he speaketh mysteries. Things that are unknown and mysterious to his hearers. Men do not understand him.
