People's Bible Notes for 1 Peter 2:7

1Pe 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe. The prophecy is now applied. [He is] precious to believers because they enjoy the promise embraced in "he that believeth on him shall not be confounded". (1Pe 2:6). But unto them which be disobedient. Those who do not believe and hence, disobey; to these he is the stone which the builders rejected, which is spoken of in Ps 118:22. See also Mt 21:42 Ac 4:11. The same is made the head of the corner. Peter quotes this passage from the Old Testament and applies it with great force (Ac 4:11). The rejected Savior had become the Head of God's spiritual temple.

To BSP on loving the Bible - Love it? I don't read anything but - and books about the Bible, but not the Christian novels. I tried about 3 of those; I can't get into Biblical fiction; too boring. The word of God is - EXCITING!!! I love the story of Elijah and the prophets of baal; makes me laugh everytime I read it. And Balaam and his 'dumb' donkey. God's got a sense of humor.

To say God CAN'T do anything is totally popasterous next to if not it self blasphemy. These restraints don't wont and can not stop God Almighty from doing what Thou does however it does limit prayers and faith in a mans imagination what is thought of as forbidden. Placed in this category by man to accomplish exactly what it has done forbid you.

You are correct. Vv. 21-24 are talking about spiritual things. Each born again believer is to live above sin. By His stripes we are healed. Without His atonement, propitiation, we are powerless and mired in ourselves. The scripture doesn't mention the physical healing work. Just purification of our hearts, souls, and minds.
