As the LORD thy God liveth, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord hath not sent to seek thee: and when they said, He is not there; he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found thee not.”

18:10 No nation - Near his own, where he could in reason think thatElijah had hid himself. It does not appear, that Ahab sought him,in order to put him to death: but rather in hopes of prevailing upon him,to pray for the removal of the drought.
