2:9 He that saith he is in the light - In Christ, united to him. And hateth his brother - The very name shows the love due to him. Is in darkness until now - Void of Christ, and of all true light.

    V. 19. He's talking about believers who left the faith and turned to working the anti-Christ side. Either we are for Christ or against Him. Satan sews tares in the wheat so be careful.

    Correction I meant to say no he is not just speaking about the people of his time, he is speaking of this generation. We must remember that in Revelations it was revealed to John what is to come

    Yes he is speaking about us. We must remember that John has been shown what is to come. Many things that are happening today are revealed in Revelations
