People's Bible Notes for 1 John 1:3

1Jo 1:3 That ye also may have fellowship. To declare what they had seen and heard was simply to preach the gospel. This knowledge communicated to others brought those who accepted it into a fellowship of knowledge and hope. Those are in fellowship who are partakers of the same faith, hopes, and privileges. With us. All the saints entered into fellowship with the apostles, but the apostles were in fellowship with the Father. This grand fellowship, that of the saints with the Father and the Son, is simply a guarantee that no good thing will be withheld from us; that "all things are ours". There is a fellowship of peace, of concord, of eternal life and glory.

Discussion for 1 John 1

It is beautifully expressed by John how even though we are saved by accepting the Bible truths, we have a way of keeping track of our spiritual condition of heart. Even Peter admitted his sin of denial of Jesus. The blood of Jesus keeps us continually clean as far as eternal security, though we wash our feet daily as we move from glory to glory.

And I will read it right now. This is very important.

I think that every one who believes backsliders can continue in sin with no eternal punishment, should read the entire book of 1 John.

I read this chapter every night before going to bed. It gives me great comfort and allows me to sleep more comfortably. I specifically like 1st John 1: 9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. What a very comforting thought to know the God of Heaven will listen and forgive us. Praise be to God.
