Dan's comment on 4/02/2014, 5:52am...

I quite like this chapter of Corinthian mainly cause of verses 50 56 in this chapter 15 because it relates to my favorite song 'here at last '. My favorite verse in this chapter is verse 57 ' But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ '.

Jimmy's comment on 2/16/2014, 9:05pm...

I cor 15 52 The last trump here refers to the second advent when Jesus returns to earth to set up his kingdom If instead the last trump refers to the rapture of the church before the tribulation then there will be no trump when Jesus returns to set up his kingdom Last means no others

Jimmy's comment about verse 52 on 2/16/2014, 8:49pm...

The last trump is when Jesus returns to set up his earthly kingdom on earth second advent If the last trump refers to pretribution rapture then what trump is sounded at his appearance to set up his earthly kingdom Last means there are no other trumps that follow Yes the elect will be here for the tribulation However there is no reason to fear Satan first three and half years because he will not harm one hair on your head Jesus second three and half years certainly will only poor out his wrath on the unjust

Hansen G's comment about verse 52 on 2/07/2014, 8:53pm...

In a twinkle of an eye in just a moment of time the trumpet shall sound and the dead in Christ shall rise first with incorruptible bodies The weight of this SIN cursed bodies of ours that seem to drug us down shall be be gotten rid of We those saved in Christ and prepared for His second coming shall be transformed from this mortal bodies into that of immortality and shall be caught up in the air with the risen ones to meet our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Yahushua THE REDEEMER LET US DO WELL TO BE READY FOR HIM

Mark's comment about verse 22 on 1/06/2014, 9:06pm...

Is Adam more triumphant than God through Christ. I think not. This is not about resurrection but eternal peace with God for ALL who god has created. Whether in this life or beyond. Love wins the ultimate victory!

David's comment about verse 33 on 1/01/2014, 8:54pm...

Bob Peck's comment on 12/30/2013, 11:53am...

The resurrection chpt. lots of unfulfilled prophesy, one of the most prophetic chapters in the New Testament, love it, Peace In Christ. God is all in all.

Gary's comment about verse 29 on 12/09/2013, 10:05pm...

I Corinthians 15:29

Otherwise, what do people mean by being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized on their behalf?

This is a very odd passage of Scripture. The Mormons use this passage as the basis for their belief in Baptism for the Dead. I will present the orthodox Christian/Lutheran view of this passage below, but first I would like us to look at something else in this passage that is odd:

If the Church in Corinth had been taught by the Apostle Paul that the manner in which one is saved is to pray (verbally or nonverbally) a sincere, penitent, prayer/petition to God, such as a version of the Sinner's Prayer, why does this passage of God's Holy Word discuss baptisms for the dead and not "prayers for the dead", specifically, praying a version of the Sinner's Prayer for the dead?

Isn't that really odd? No matter what activity was actually going on in the Corinthian church regarding "the dead", why is the discussion/controversy about baptism and not the "true" means of salvation according to Baptists and evangelicals: an internal belief in Christ; an internal "decision" for Christ?

And even more odd...why didn't Paul scold the Corinthians for focusing so much on baptism which he had surely taught them (according to Baptists and evangelicals) was nothing other than an act of obedience; a public profession of faith??

Why so much emphasis on baptism?

Is it possible that the reason that the Corinthians were so concerned about baptism is that they had been taught by the Apostle Paul and other Christian evangelists that salvation and the promise of the resurrection of the dead and eternal life are received in Baptism, just as orthodox Christians, including Lutherans, have been teaching for almost 2,000 years??

Shay's comment about verse 26 on 12/09/2013, 8:44am...

Its a comforting thought to know that our loved ones now asleep in mankinds's common grave have the prospect of resuming life in a wonderful new world free of all the present-day distress. And the fact that all those who have died are in Jehovah God infalliable memory.

BSP's comment about verse 26 on 11/17/2013, 11:30am...

Death is truly an enemy of all man. Everyone feels the bad effects of death and no one is exempt. This is an encouraging scripture for the future. We are assured that death is going to be destroyed. Imagine a world without death in it! I look forward to a time when this will happen.

Helen's comment about verse 44 on 11/12/2013, 6:18am...

We are now in the process of sowing to the body that will be. Our bodies now are adamic and must be brought down to death. As we deny the Adamic nature to rule us this body in a sense is being brought down to death. When in the resurrection we receive our house from heaven it will be glorious in direct relation to the death that we have walked out here. Remember Jesus said if you try to save your life you will lose it. So as we experience the sufferings of this life which are as a result of our great desire to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings a house is being formed for us in heaven which will clothe our resurrected bodies. The house is the same as the White Robes (righteous deeds of the saints) in Revelation. Press on with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Glorious things await us. Faithfulness is required. Jesus did it all so that you can follow Him into what he did. Unless a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die it abideth alone. He brought us to the waters of baptism to show us that the corrupt nature has to be put to death. As the waters of Noah destroyed corruption upon the earth the waters of baptism destroy corruption in us. It has to be dealt with because corruption will not inherit the Kingdom. Being brought down to death is when we no longer look out for our own interest but we begin to consider the other person's needs, we do not demand our own rights, we suffer ourselves to be defrauded knowing that Jesus will set it all straight. Remember this is a strait gate and a narrow way and few find it. Set your face toward Jerusalem and ask the Spirit to take you all the way to your Golgatha. You will be so glad in the day of the resurrection.

Patrick's comment on 11/07/2013, 6:14am...

If you have not seen Pauls gospel yet in this chapter, consider what he writes in the first 4 verses; Paul declares the gospel to the existing believers in Corinth which they had received and which they had taken a stand, and by which they were saved. Paul writes in verse 3,4. the gospel message that he had received (Galatians 1:11,12.)Paul received this gospel from Christ himself. There should be no other gospel preached only Pauls Galatians 1:6-10. Do you see Pauls gospel?
Ephesians 1:13 says they heard the word of truth the gospel and believed and were sealed and saved. Christ died for OUR SINS was buried and rose again according to the scriptures;thats the gospel of your salvation.

Joy's comment about verse 47 on 11/03/2013, 7:25pm...

One way to worship Jesus Christ as our source of life is to look above earth's trials for our answers as we dwell on all that is lovely and pure and of good report. We must allow Him to complete the good work He has begun in us as we get out of the way, major on Him and His ways, and be simple concerning the ways of evil. When we focus on Grace Himself and not the fallen tendencies inherent in the race of the first Adam, we rise in obedience to the God of Peace who swiftly crushes s. beneath our feet!
