Wesley's Notes for 1 Corinthians 6:9

6:9 Idolatry is here placed between fornication and adultery, because they generally accompanied it. Nor the effeminate - Who live in an easy, indolent way; taking up no cross, enduring no hardship. But how is this? These good - natured, harmless people are ranked with idolaters and sodomites! We may learn hence, that we are never secure from the greatest sins, till we guard against those which are thought the least; nor, indeed, till we think no sin is little, since every one is a step toward hell.

People's Bible Notes for 1 Corinthians 6:9

1Co 6:9 The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. The glorious kingdom of which the church is the earthly type. The church is God's kingdom on earth, and its faithful members "inherit" the heavenly kingdom (Mt 25:34). Be not deceived. Let no one make the mistake of thinking that any unrighteous man shall be an heir. Effeminate. This and the next phrase refer to a shameful crime quite prevalent among the heathen, the first submitting themselves to the foul sensuality, and the second actively "abusing themselves with men", contrary to nature. Both are Sodomites. None guilty of any one of the list of vices given can be an heir of heaven.

Sinner Saved By Grace's comment on 2015-08-27 07:08:54:

Gods word is truth! When God created man,he said, it is not good that man should be alone. God gave him a help mate, which was a women, not a man.

Charliegirl's comment on 2015-07-01 07:50:46:

Be not deceived God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.Galations 6:7 The ACT itself is WICKED and PERVERSE. God never intended for two men or two women to be together sexually. If you are openly or not behaving and conducting yourself in a manner that is not pleasing to God... Better get it right. Tomorrow may be too late for you.

Ron Dwyer's comment on 2015-05-21 11:04:29:

you can not be openly gay and be a christian. Homosexuality is an addiction and Terrance you will have to repent and change your ways to get to heaven but the fact that you are trying will surely mean you will not be sent to hell. You must continue to put in the effort, it is tough. We all have our sinful vices and unless we cleans ourselves of our sins we will still have to earn our way in our afterlife before we can live in the full glory of God

Kathleen's comment on 2015-04-07 13:41:53:

I think it is wrong for any one of us to sit in judgement of others no matter what. Matthew 22:36-46

Ava's comment on 2015-02-23 07:34:45: be saved is to be redeemed, to be snatched from the jaws of hell by our Saviour. Think of it as a person out at sea drowning or in the deep end of a pool, then a lifeboat or someone comes by and pick them up out of that state or someone caught in a burning house, then a firefighter comes to their aide. It is just like that with Jesus, once you have accepted Him wholeheartedly as Lord and Saviour that is to put away all sin, He will abide in you and you will be a changed person. No one can serve two masters St. Luke 16:13 , so you must choose to either walk with Christ or live in sin. If you choose the sinful path homosexuality - being gay , then 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Galatians 5:19-21 Romans 1:18-32, makes you aware of the fact that you will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Choose wisely and turn from the ways that displeases God and seek after Him, He will deliver you from sin.

Eileen's comment on 2015-01-04 10:54:14:

Yes, I do believe that homosexuality is a sin. The Old and New Testament are against it. It is clearly stated, yet people are trying to change the scriptures to make them say what they want them to say. God loves the sinner but hates the sin. When a person comes to Christ, they have to repent. If you were a prostitute, you can not stay a prostitute,or a murderer etc. we all have to repent. There is no Such thing as a Christian homosexual. Don 't be deceived. God gives us the power of the Holy Spirit to help us to change. We are new creations, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new.

K.P.Senthilkumar's comment on 2014-11-02 01:25:25:

Laodicean era started in 199. In this warm period people of the church are effeminate and sodomites!!! It means that they are spiritual Sinners in their relationship with GOD. Self worship and Elite worship for Cheap economic credits make them Backslidden believers. Church elders must take precautious efforts against it. Preach the Gospel. Damn prosperity blasphemy.

KM Charanga's comment on 2013-12-08 20:57:56:

Is it possible to resist all the sins without being filled with the HOLY SPIRIT?
If no, how do I submit myself to GOD? Can I submit to Him unrighteously?
Because I am afraid without true submission, being filled with the Holy Spirit if fairly impossible.
Please help.

Joe's comment on 2013-08-20 11:26:12:

I am responding to Terrance's comment / question
which is : "Is homo***uality really a sin?" Yes-
it most certainly is a sin. I truly sympathize that you are struggling with it , and it is joyful
that you believe God will deliver you from it in the future . Rejoice , because Christ declared that He will NOT turn anyone away who comes to Him . If you seek forgiveness , healing , and a new life - go to Christ with a penitent heart , and He will not turn you away !!! You are NOT alone , Terrance !!! MANY people struggle with all
kinds of sins , including ***ual immorality . I do
too - but I know that God is reforming me , and will complete a work He has begun in me . I have the same hope for you as well ...!! Don't take the sinful state for granted , but do remember the
theif on the cross who was forgiven ALL his sins and promised by Christ that he would be in paradise with Him that very day ... !! God bless you , Terrance !!!

Paul's comment on 2013-03-10 12:26:59:

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you, James 4:7.

Terrance's comment on 2012-11-17 13:45:45:

Is homosexuality really a sin? I have been trying to change but I really struggle with it, I know one day God will deliver me from it.
